'New Possum Found!' Photographic Influences on Anmatyerr Art by James Gibson & John Kean

Jason Gibson is a curator in the Humanities Department of Museum Victoria and a consultant anthropologist with sixteen years of experience in Central Australia. He is currently writing his PhD at the Monash Indigenous Centre on T.G.H. Strehlow’s Anmatyerr ethnography.

John Kean is an independent producer, curator and writer, and was an Art Advisor for Papunya Tula Artist Pty Ltd (1977–1979). He is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, and an Honorary Associate of Museum Victoria, where he worked as a producer for fifteen years.
